Engines have done 1300hrs and aftercoolers never serviced (I think). My advice is that they should not be serviced, as the core is too sensitive and too many issues follow a service and the "official" recommendation is that they are replaced. Parts alone are $12,000 each side so I am dismayed that this is the only option available to me.
Can anyone tell me the if they are safe to service (as per service manual). Ive heard that cat replaced the early aftercoolers under warranty early on as there was a known issue. Anyone help me out please?
Many thanks in advance, Angus
PS Im all about preventative maintenance, so not doing this service for any other reason that its due/overdue.
