Re: 3306 Motor + SR4 Gen - Fuel Control Problem ?

I've now determined that the Governor Actuator is cycling between 0 - 5 vDC, our good running generator sits on 4-5 vDC depending on load. We are using a Woodward 2301A controller.

3306 Motor + SR4 Gen - Fuel Control Problem ?

Hi Folks,

We have 2 x 3306 Motors with SR4 Generators here on a 50m Yacht. Made up new battery leads this morning and connected 2 brand new, charged batteries, this was due to an issue with our battery/charging circuit. Suspected insufficient charging, due to constant clicking of starter.

The Motor now starts fine, however immediately on start up it begins hunting/fluctuating revs, voltage & frequency meters on our switchboard are moving 380-400v & 50Hz +/-, i.e. close to our normal operating range but very unstable, fluctuations are very regular.

There were no fluctuations or other control problems before we had the issue with the battery charging circuit. The performance of the alternator is in doubt.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
