Re: Oil in Air Filter

Hi Mrmukoki,

Engine is used in marine application as primary power source. The crankcase breather filter has been changed and problem solved. Thanks again Patrick335d for the suggestion.

Re: Oil in Air Filter

Hi Patrick,

Thanks very much for the reply. I've got a set of crankcase filters on order, I'm not sure how long the current filters have been in service so hopefully this may be the cause of the oil in the starboard air filter.

Cheers

Re: Oil in Air Filter

have you ever changed the crankcase fume filter?(black round filter on the front of the engine.

usually Separ or Parker brand.

the fumes are going through the filter, which separates the oil and the fumes go to the airfilter.

If the filter is saturated then the oil passes through in the intake.

Oil in Air Filter

Caterpillar C7 ACERT with 700hours total time, recently discovered oil in the air filter. Any suggestions to the root cause or possibilities?
