Thanks for the resonse and advise. Got a replacement cartridge, I understand the procedure is to first oil prime the turbo, spin the fan, then tumble the engine with the stop button pressed for 10-15 seconds, then start and let idle for about 10 minutes before testing at high RPMs. is this correct and is there anything else I should know.

My 3126B engine's turbo broke. That is to say the shaft that holds the two fans snapped. The dealer here in Trinidad does not have a new cartridge on hand. My question is can I put the cartridge minus the fans and shaft back into the turbo housing and use the engine at low rpm for the weekend. Will the oil go directly into my aftercooler and clog it or is there a possibility of my engine running away. or do I just run the boat on one engine for now. the serial is 3GS00302 and this is a 455 HP 3126B marine engine.
