Re: 3606 Fuel Gas Temperature

Caterpillar states that the spec for fuel temperature should be 50 F to 140 F.  Any fule outside this temperature may cause problems with the engine operation.  You may get liquid hydrocarbon dropout in the fuel causing detonation.  You may have the fuel valve freeze up, just to name a couple of things that might happen.  The fuel temp target is 80 F-100 F for best results.

3606 Fuel Gas Temperature

Is there a requirement for maintaining a minimum fuel gas temperature to the engines? Are there any issues with using cold fuel gas? We have several facilities in NE Ohio and Pennsylvania that tend to have fuel gas temperatures in the 0-30F range throughout winter.
