Re: CAT C7 Military in Afghanistan Derated @ 150-180 degrees no fault code

Thanks for the reply. We ran full diagnostics, including HEUI tests. Fault turned out to be air inlet temp. sensor. Truck fixed and gone! BT (cbrer)

Check the software and see if it up to date.  Also check the injector trim codes and make sure they all match.  Some cat engine will cut out in cold mode in order to warm up faster, but that seems a littlle to warm for it to cut out.  Also did the status bar at the bottom of ET read anything while doing it? like maybe top engine limit?

CAT C7 Military in Afghanistan Derated @ 150-180 degrees no fault code

Thanks for any help. Unit waiting on truck for mission. When this truck leaves cold mode, 150 degrees up to 180 degrees, it misfires at high RPM (derate?). All parameters read normal through CAT ET.  Problem clears up after 180. Swapped HEUI pump, sensors, and repaired Trans. wiring. No faults logged.

Thanks, BT
