Re: 3508 B Questions

Possibly spray angle, injection pressure or duration.
A DSN to Caterpillar might give you the exact details.

Re: 3508 B Questions

Looks like engine should have 3920200 injectors.
The 3920222 I believe is for a 3516C engine.
If your 1 new injector is not matching your arrangement it could be the cause of your hot exhaust temp.

Re: 3508 B Questions

Sounds like the other 7 injectors are wore out. If they have 6000+hours and run on poor fuel they may need to be replaced.
Do a valve/injector set, cylinder cutout test and make sure you have the proper injector part number matching the other injectors. If you have a prime injector it could also give you the temp diff.

Re: 3508 Injector

Did you program the engine ECM with the injector trim code? How many hours on the other 7 injectors?

3508 Injector

One of the injector spring was brocken for my Cat 3508B engine, replace the injector with new one. Now that cylinder temprature is about 45°C higher than  average temprature of all cylinders.  laod is 45-50%. This temprature increase is normal or not ?
