Re: Hunting of engine with Voltage fluctuation

You can connect equal load on GenSet without vfd and loading generator on 100% and understand is it vfd garmonics problems or not. Or connect Fluke power quality analiser and check garmonic. If garmonics reason of problem (more 3%), usually set passive (LC) or active filters.

check fuel filter. Under load fuel consumption rise and if filter is dirty, fuel is not enough.

Yes on idel mode its constant

Re: Hunting of engine with Voltage fluctuation

You have to understand what is first reason of flucuation: rpm (active load) or voltage avr (reactive load). What load at that time? constant or also change? In idle mode voltage/rpm constant? Check in scada dse avr and speed signal and try to adjust parameters gain, stability. May be problem in avr or actuator adjustment or fuel filter is durty when under load. Many reason can be. Write exactly when it happened.

Hunting of engine with Voltage fluctuation

Hi,
This is Hiren.
I am facing problem with harmonics at well sites for our volvo and cat engines.
Some times there is to much hunting in engine and voltage & speed flucuations.
We are using Deepsea for volvo engines and Deepsea + EMCP for cat engines.
Is this a problem related to harmonics created by vfd ?
