Re: 3606 Poor Quality Reman Injector Supply

Vessel has replied that the fuel is:

Fuel supply temperature is around 20°C
Fuel return temperature is around 31°C

Re: 3606 Poor Quality Reman Injector Supply

The vessel operates in the sub Antarctic wher sea temperatures are quite low.

We do not operate fuel coolers because fuel temperatures are normally quite low. I will ask about fuel temps and post once I get a reply form the vessel.

Re: 3606 Poor Quality Reman Injector Supply

Hi,

i know from experience that Cat Reman injectors are not trouble free.

but the damages more looks like somebody put used injectors back in the stock.

does your engine use fuel cooler on the fuel return to the tank?

what is your fuel temperature?

what is your area of operation?

3606 Poor Quality Reman Injector Supply

Good Day

We are operating a 3606 engine as a main engine on one of out vessels. Over the last couple of years we have received several poor quality reman injectors which drop off in performanance quickly or do not perform upon installation.  Last week we had to replace another failed injector and the reman out of the box injector had a dented body and looked like somone had used a pipe wrench on it.   Has anyone else had the same issue?

What is the specification that CAT uses to Reman their injectors?
