Re: C7 revs not more than 1500 rpm

If the exhaust turbine shaft seal is damaged then this will allow oil to leak into the turbocharger turbine housing which can produce smoke particulary at low speed. The damaged turbine shaft seal can also allow exhaust gases to leak into the turbo centre housing and into the crankcase and come out the breather. If the turbocharger is also rubbing or binding then low boost will result and electronics will only allow engine to go to  fuel ratio fuel position and not rated fuel position which will limit power.

Ok sorry the engine is a c7 acert marine the skipper wrongly said about the smoke it's blue which is burning oil also there was blow by in the breather now I removed the turbo and there was lots of oil I the exhaust could the turbo cause a back pressure in the crankcase make the engine blow by

Re: C7 revs not more than 1500 rpm

Hi Neil1

Black smoke is fuel.

White smoke is water.

sound like water leak in to cumbution chamber (s).

the water is killing combustion performence and loss of engine power.

What is engine application.
