Do you have a MCS system with a Deif multiline controller?

in this case you have a shutdown override switch in the panel.

if you activate this then the fuel priming pump starts, usually you dont have any issues then.

probably the engine ramp speed is set too high in the woodward setup.

you will need a com cable and woodward software for this.

Cat C4.4DITA emerg genset shut down on overspeed

Have an issue and looking for thoughts.

We have an emergency genset, Cat C4.4 fitted with both electrical and recoil (spring) starter.

Starting on the electrical starter ..... no issue, it alarms momentarily on overspeed and settles happily.

Starting on the recoil starter it goes to overspeed and goes into shutdown. Looking for some ideas as to why, or how I can adjust the overspeed set point.

AS emerg genset has to be operational on both start methods for survey.

Ideas appreciated.

Thanks
