Hi, I purchased a 2012 BMW X1 28i xDrive one month ago. I presume I got a bad luck : there's dark smoke coming from the exhaust on every cold start. So I took the car to a good indie BMW mechanic to have it checked and that's what he found : There's an oil leak around the turbocharger and it's coming from either the oil line or both the oil line and the turbo. Work estimate of 7 hours. My question is, should I take a chance and replace only the oil line (and potentially needing to replace the turbo later, paying the 7 hours of work again) or should I replace both parts at the same time? Thanks for your input!
