Sr4b and Sr5

What difference the sr4b and sr5

Re: Sr4b and Sr5

In general, the SR4B is offered in more ratings with a lower temperature rise, in most cases more suitable for prime and continuos operation for long periods. The SR5 generators are generally built lighter and smaller for a given rating as compared to the SR4 generators with higher allowable temperature rise. Can still provide the same output for a smaller and lighter package, and the trade off is a reduced service life from operating at higher temperatures.

Probably one of the best places to get a good idea of the technical comparisons between the two in in the CAT A&I Guide for Generators, form number LEBW4993, Toromont has a copy posted on the web,

Hope tha helps, Mike L.
